Outreach Committee’s Mission Statement

Outreach The mission of the Outreach Committee is to bear witness to Jesus’ compassion and teaching by directing resources of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church to support the homeless, the hungry, children, the oppressed, the poor, victims of disaster, and the environment, locally, nationally, and internationally, for the greater glory of God.

Our St. Anne’s Outreach Ministries provide many pathways to live the whole-hearted love of God that shows itself in active caring for our neighbors locally and globally. We carry out these partnership ministries to build understanding, help those in need, work for justice, and expand Christ’s Kingdom in the world, which in turn enriches our own lives of faith.

There are many ways that members of St. Anne’s Parish can reach out to our neighbors here in Annapolis or around the world and make a difference. We encourage you to get involved and to support these Outreach Ministries by volunteering your time and talents or by making a donation.

“For it is in giving that we receive.” — St. Francis

Outreach Grant Application.   Grant applications must be received no later than September 1.

The budget for the Outreach Committee will be determined by the Vestry on an annual basis and made available to the Committee for allocation to individual outreach programs, following Vestry’s final approval.

Our baptismal covenant calls us to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.” The Outreach Committee seeks to help St. Anne’s members live into that call as individuals and as a community. To meet that goal, the Outreach Committee asks for your prayers to guide us and join us as disciples in our efforts to support those in need.

St. Anne’s Episcopal Parish currently supports the following ministries with our time, talent and treasure:

  • American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem
  • Annapolis Area Ministries, Inc./Light House
  • Backpack Buddies
  • Back to School Backpack Program
  • Easter Basket Outreach
  • Employment Assistance Program

Diocesan Outreach

In addition to Outreach in Annapolis and Guatemala, we also provide outreach to the State of Maryland via the Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network (MEPPN).  Our Deacon, Kathy Shahinian, is our Diocesan Public Policy Advocate.  Deacon Kathy and the Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network (MEPPN) met with state leaders and advocated for our legislative priorities throughout the 2018 legislative session. Follow MEPPN on Facebook or check out #EpiscopalAdvocacyMD on Twitter to learn more.
