9 up, 12 down St. Andrew’s is
the sponsor of a monthly Coffee House for the community’s youth.
Each month we open our doors to the young
people of Pasadena in an attempt to provide a safe, clean and fun environment
for teens. Every month we will host an event on the 3rd Saturday,
from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Attendees must have completed the 8th grade, deeming
them an incoming freshman and remain a high school student in order to continue
attending. From this idea, we formed the name of the Coffee House: 9 up,
12 down. Board Meeting & Leadership The Executive
Board of our blossoming Coffee House, made up of the youth of St. Andrews, met
under the direction of a few guiding members of the Melon Club for the second
time on June 21st, 2010, for approximately an hour and a half to propose and
finalize our Bylaws and Code of Conduct. Four amendments
were proposed during the process of approval, all of which approved with at
least a majority of 5/6. With three out of four being passed unanimously. At
9:21pm on June 21st, 2010, both the Bylaws and Code of Conduct were unanimously
approved as amended and signed into law by the co-presidents Haley Marcussen and Conner Wissmann. Before the motion to adjourn, duties for the first
ever test run of 9 up 12 down were
assigned and a quick action plan was set into motion. An Invitation If any adults
over the age of 30 would be interested in chaperoning, or in helping with the
set up or clean up of an event, they should see Shayne Wissmann or another
member of the Melon Club as soon as possible. |
