Celebrating
50 Years
of Worship
in Pasadena

Our Parish History

IN RESPONSE TO A 1954 SURVEY showing interest in an Episcopal Church in the Pasadena area,
the Brotherhood of St. Andrew
from St. Alban's in Glen Burnie established
St.
Andrew's Mission.
Our first Holy Eucharist was celebrated on
May 23, 1954 at the

Magothy Health Center on Mountain Road in Pasadena.
The people of St. Andrew's quickly established a building fund. Land was purchased on Tick Neck Road
and the church was erected.
The first services in our permanent home

were celebrated on February 16, 1960.
St. Andrew's was raised from mission to parish

status in December 1973.
In the early 1990's, it became apparent that more space was needed. A capital campaign ensued, construction began, and a new Sanctuary and Narthex were dedicated
on St. Andrew's Day, 1998.
